Nothing much I can add to this.
Sometimes I wonder if it’s people not considering things, or if it’s deliberate. Either way the hypocrisy feels galling. I do also think that maybe it shows how deeply ingrained this kind of language is, and that’s precisely why I’m trying to change it, and have altered my own behaviour.
